Basically Cardano was created so that everyone has access to financial services, everywhere in the world. We are not unaware that some African countries live in poverty and have little or no concrete solutions to get out of misery. From there, we came up with the idea of contributing in our own way to spreading the mission of Cardano. But how do you make a real difference and where do you start? This question is not simple!
Having the chance to count in our team Mitoumba who is from the city of Abidjan, we have chosen to start by concentrating our aid on the poor villages in Africa. Mitoumba is our communication officer and will be the intermediary between his continent of origin, Africa, and Quebec(Canada).
We could use the profits to send food, medicine or send money to different organizations, however, although this way of helping is admirable, we wanted to do more. We wanted the help given to bear fruit in the long term. This is why we have chosen to use the profits generated by the ABLE pool to help them make the trade in which they are good at profitable. In this way, they will be able to get out of their more than precarious situation, but in a sustainable way and with dignity. To do this, we will go about it in two ways.
Initially, the profits generated by the ABLE pool will be used to purchase high-performance equipment to help them exploit the profession in which they are good (farmers, fishermen, local workers, etc.).
Of course, we favor local purchases in order to help local businesses, but we may have to order more efficient tools elsewhere if technological innovations do not allow us to do so (eg: purchase of high quality sonars for fishermen, agricultural machinery and farm tractors). Working with the right equipment will help them build wealth and lift themselves out of poverty with dignity.
In a second step, we plan to go there to help them understand and use the Cardano blockchain. In Africa, almost every individual has a cell phone, but many of them have virtually no access to banking services. We will help them create their virtual identity and explain to them how the Cardano blockchain can easily surpass the banking institutions that are lacking in order to help them make their profession and, for the more adventurous, their business prosper.
In order to ensure that your confidence in our mission and by the very fact that your delegation to our ABLE pool is not done blindly, we have chosen to use the metadata label 674 which will explain in detail the nature of the expenses of the wallet of our pool under form of receipt linked to the transaction. In this way, all of our operations will be accessible to everyone and carried out in complete transparency. You will be aware of everything and we strongly invite you to ask us about these expenses.
Currently, we are in accumulation mode, in order to have sufficient income to make a real local change. Base fees and pool margin will never be higher than the minimum allowed by the blockchain protocol. Also, a fixed amount of 10 Ada will be paid to all relay operators for each Epoch that has produced at least one block in order to cover the infrastructure, electricity and other costs generated by the location of the relay. All our operators believe in the ideology around Cardano and give their time completely voluntarily out of love for this project.
We believe in this project and we have a game plan that seems realistic and viable in the long term, but we are always open to suggestions!
